When this generation of parents was in school, tech was a booming career choice. But AI may be changing your daily job and the future of tech work.

Universities need to understand  what you’re telling your kids about careers in tech. 

• What are tech worker parents telling their kids about the future of tech work?
• What does this tell us about the future of work in a time of change and turmoil?

Interviews will be confidential (names deleted after scheduling), and hopefully interesting for you. Interviews will last about one hour and will be audio recorded. 

WHO ARE WE?

Katie Shilton is a professor at the University of Maryland and the mom of two elementary school students in San Jose. Norman Su is an associate professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz and the dad of two preschool students in Santa Clara.

Our fields—Information Science and Human-Computer Interaction—need to better understand what today’s parents want for their kids’ educational and work futures. Help us understand the future of tech careers by sharing your perspective.
