Welcome to the EViD Lab! Our research focuses on the impact of ethics and policy on technology design and use. Team members investigate how factors such as values and norms, rules and practices, and material constraints interact to influence the ethical 
implications of emerging technologies. Through our empirical research and educational outreach, we hope to influence both technology design and policy.
The lab is led by Katie Shilton, an Associate Professor at the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland.
