EViD lab research focuses on the impact of ethics and policy on technology design and use. Team members investigate how factors such as values and norms, rules and practices, and material constraints interact to influence the ethical implications of emerging technologies.

The lab is led by Katie Shilton an Assistant Professor in the College of Information Studies at the University of Maryland. The EViD lab is a part of CASCI and IPAC.

We have generously received funding from the National Science Foundation, Google, and UMD ADVANCE.
